Highlights
In Q1 Regen Farmer have seen a growth in all of our core business areas. Below are the main activities that have been undertaken in the first quarter of 2025:
- Advice: Launched longer course format spanning 5 months for full-time farmers.
- Networks: Growing number of regional networks for agroforestry and tree crops.
- Education: Lectures at agricultural schools on agroforestry, doubled down on our own “farmer-for-a-day” courses and starting agroforestry AMU-courses for up-qualification of existing farmers.
- Software: More countries on RegenMaps, shipped new versions of RegenWorks, launched OFCT and LULPA.
- Project development: Approved as plant reseller and started sourcing high quality planting material.
- Research Projects: DigitAF and APCCO focusing mostly on modeling. Finished Swedish nut project.
Launching new course format for farmers
In March we launched a new course format for farmers that want’s to transition to agroforestry. The program is a culmination of all our experience with how to best facilitate a long term transition to agroforestry and it combines elements from our design offerings, networks and farmer training into the best farm transition experience.
Expanding regional networks for agroforestry and tree crops
In 2024 we started one network for agroforestry in Southern Jutland. Since then we have grown our regional networks to cover three regions in Denmark, Southern Denmark, Middle Jutland and Zealand. We have also expanded with differentiated networks in each region, to focus on different growers needs and focus areas. The differentiated networks are: Full-time agroforestry farmers, part-time/hobby agroforestry farmers and nut producers.
Education and training
In 2024 we launched our “farmer-for-a-day” course and had some lectures at agricultural colleges on agroforestry. In the beginning for 2025 we made a strategic effort to grow our offerings for education and training. This is already starting to pay of and we are now have doubled our amount of “farmer-for-a-day” courses, we have established recurring agreement for lectures at agricultural colleges and we have launched an accredited up-qualification agroforestry program for existing farmers (AMU-course).
Software
First quarter has been quite active on the software side, with a lot of new releases and product launches. In Q1 we:
- Released a new version of our agroforestry design software RegenWorks.
- Launched the RegenMaps parcel map of farmland across the EU.
- Launched the first version of the open source farm-scale green-house gas model “Open Farm Carbon Tracker”.
- Launched our first data product LULPA, which focus on creating easy access to agricultural administrative units, crop references, land-use references and parcel geometries through a single API end-point.
Project development
In Q1 we were approved as a tree reseller and sourced high quality planting material for several projects. The focus has mainly been on high quality nut trees, which is in low supply in Denmark.
R&D projects
We finished of the Swedish nut project “Nötter – Framtidans Verdagsmat”, with a workshop in Sweden. The project has given great insights into the nut sector in the Nordics and it’s an area that we will focus more in going forward.
In the DigitAF project, focus has been on developing streamlined datasets, which has culminated in the launch of RegenMaps, Open Farm Carbon Tracker and LULPA.
In the APCCO project, focus is on setting up field trials on coffee farmers in Uganda. The aim is to explore if agroforestry can increase the Living Income of coffee farmers in Uganda, through RegenWorks and specialized performance models for tropical climates such as SHAMBA and Dynacof.
